Took of my 10 sp cassette to clean it. This in on a G3 powertap hub.

Put on the spacer ring and cassette. Put it on my trainer, but hearing clicking noises while pedaling. So followed instructions to adjust rear derail. I didn't take off the chain, but did a visual alignment on small and large cogs setting limit screws, re tightened cable, backed off adjusting cable screw one turn, etc.

Still hear some clicking. It shifts fine, goes through all the gears fine, but something is out of adjustment. Does't seem that I need to change b screw, chain is pretty new, and again, was working just fine before I took the cassette off. I had posted in another thread whether or not I needed that spacer when putting on the cassette, but it had been on there before as well, and everyone agreed that I should have it on.

Wouldn't have thought taking off and putting back the cassette would require me to re adjust the derail. About to take to LBS as I am running out of time myself, but maybe there is something I am missing?

Appreciate any help here.

You absolutely shouldn't have to adjust the limits or barrel if you put the exact same cassette back on. Are you absolutely sure you put it back on exactly as it came off?
Same spacers in same order?
Is your G3 hub 11sp? If so you need 2 spacers with a shimano 10sp cassette.
Is your cassette lockring tight?

TLG, thanks for the quick reply and help before. Only one spacer was on before I took it off, this is the black spacer that says for 9,9,10 sp in picture. All other spacers seemed to be same size? G3 hub says 11sp on it, with sram cassette. cassette is locked tight. got the cassette on with smallest cog going to largest, nothing seems out of order.

thinking i should take off cassette and redo everything again? however, i have played with adjustments already....

will check to make sure wheel is sitting firmly in dropouts.

If you are using a SRAM 10 cassette on an 11 speed hub you should be fine. Only the 1.85mm '11 speed' spacer is needed in this case. If you're trying to confirm/adjust your limit screws w/ the cable still attached, you're more often than not doing it wrong. Undo the cable anchor bolt and recheck the high limit then reattach the cable. Shift from the 11 to the 12 and see what happens. Most likely you'll have some noise and need to add tension. You can push on the derailleur while pedaling the bike by hand (assuming you have a work stand or someone to hold the bike off the ground) and see if the noise lessens or gets worse. That will tell you which way you need to adjust the cable tension.

i did the adjustment with the cable off, but chain on, so a bit hard to see alignment.

the bike is on my vortex, so i did shift by pushing derail with no cable. However, you wrote shift from 11 to 12 , i think your fingers were typing faster than brain;-), i have a 10 sp, so not sure if you meant to shift which way, up or down.

If I push on the derail (meaning pushing to go to larger cog, smaller " gear) and noises goes away, can i just adjust with cable tension, and if so, which way, I am thinking tightening so that is CCW on the cable adj screw?
