Do the Pros get to keep their bikes?

I remember reading something a few years ago about Levi and how he still works on all his bikes. They were talking to him about how he inspects and put super glue in his tires after rides. I thought it was really cool that he works on his bikes.

I have worked with a few Cat 2 and 3 riders. And well they can be a real pane to work with. Riders that work on there bikes are much much better to work with. They have an understanding of whats going wrong and a real expectation of whats its going to take to fix it. As a wrench I really don't understand people that ride a bike and then hand it off to someone to fix with out really having an understanding of the work involved.

I think that would be an interesting question to ask any of the pros. Maybe they like or will always prefer something else that they have ridden before. I have heard that Colnago is a sweet ride. One of my holy grail bikes.

Yes, Lance is really tied to Trek, but is there something else out there that he has ridden that he likes as well as Trek?

You will never know. He has a life time contract with Trek. He is now and will always be all about Trek.

And he probably owns part of the company as well lol and also has a big share in sram aswell lol he will be rolling in the $$$$ for a very long time after he retires again

And ofcoures Thor misses the Look 585 he won the green jersey on one lol

and as for Pros doing there own repairs I dont see cadel having a mechanic follow him on his training rides down at Barwon Heads in VIC although is he asked i would happliy go down there and change his punctures for him lol

I know he has a part ownership stake in SRAM. But I have never seen any thing about him having any thing other then a life time contract with trek. Its kind of like his ties to Oakley. They kept him on there health insurance when he got cancer. So you will probably see him in Oakley's forever.
