Need to replace the fork on my bike (Carbon Merckx MXM) so I can raise my bars to a "middle-aged-ex-racer-not-as-flexible" position. I've more or less decided on the Easton EC90 fork.
Nelson at Gita Bike recommends the Easton (Thanks!) as this was what Eddy himself spec-ed on the later versions of my bike (just after this vintage) because they felt it was a better fork.
I have found a great deal on a an SLX, but am a but worried about using super-light stuff. I'm not light or heavy, but am a large reasonably strong rider. I'm 180 dressed for road (OK, a bit more in winter) and will ONT be racing. I do, however, do fast paced group rides and do climb and descend mountain canyons.
So, I'm looking for feedback on the SLX vs the SL (~50gr heavier). I don't care about the extra weight of the SL, but do want the strongest and stiffest, more durable (i.e. safe) product.
Thanks!
