So I purchased a KK fluid trainer from lbs based on many user reviews.

Setup/install was easy, but from the first session I noticed a vibration (fore/aft, not lateral) from the resistance unit, can feel it when riding and even more noticeable when coasting. You can also visually see the unit vibrating.

This is what I've tried to fix it: tire pressure more/less, more/less friction from resistance knob, cleaned tires/drum with rub alcohol, 3 different wheels/tires/bikes, moving trainer around/different floor surfaces/levelling, and finally, a new resistance unit from KK. The same issue still persists.

So my question to those who have the KK is do you notice any vibration at all (see/feel) when training? Am I expecting too much? I do not see/feel any vibrations when using a blackburn magnetic trainer with a similar friction unit so I was surprised to see it with the KK, especially since everyone touts it as being one of the smoothest on the market.

Thanks

Mine has some vibration, but not enough to cause me any concern - certainly not visible. Odd that you've had the same issue w 2 units. I have a magnetic trainer (forget the model) which feels about the same as far as vibration is concerned.

Thanks guys,

I took it to the lbs and the guy seemed to think it was normal. Maybe I'm suffering from the princess and the pea syndrome.....

Anyway, I'm going to take a video of it and send it off to the guys at KK to see if there is anything else I can do. I guess I'm just abit disappointed as I was really looking forward to some really smooth rolling but so far my two older mag units were smoother.

edit* just wanted to add that the customer service from KK was pretty impressive. I e-mailed them my issue and they sent out a new resistance unit asap, no questions asked. They didn't even ask for the old one back.
