Nice bike - I'm sure you'll like it a lot. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2001 KG386. My only suggestion would be to consider replacing the Weyless seatpost with the Look Ergo seatpost. I think it fits the bike better.

I had an Ergo post on my 361. It was a PITA to get adjusted and I could never get it quite right. I'm very happy with the Weyless. Thanks for the ++ comments.

Great bike! Classic lines with some well-chosen mod goodies. I'm considering this for my next bike... how would say it might hold up in a criterium? It's not the standard aluminum job that you find on the local circuit....

Have you put it on a scale, just out of curiosity?

Like the wheels so far. Not quite as stiff as my old K's but they seem to roll better-could be that they're new and my K's are 5 y/o! As for holding up in a crit-Look bikes are built pretty well-I'd choose it over some of the thin-walled aluminum cans out there :) Haven't checked the weight recently. I got about 17.5 roughly a whike ago but since I've added a few lighter items. It's a 57cm frame, so it ain't small.

While I can't speak for the KG461, I can offer a opinion to the crit usage question based upon my KG386. These general comments should also apply to the KG461 & KG481 - to some degree.

The KG386 has the geometry suited for crit racing - specifically it has the shorter wheelbase that crit and road racing bikes usually have. The bottom bracket itself is very solid. It is at least as solid as the Cannondale CAAD4 I rode for a while. Overall, the frame is solid, but it is not as stiff as some other racing bikes. (On the flip side, the Look frame is extremely comfortable over long distances.) The bottom line is that the Look will perform just fine for most of us mortal riders. Riders who prefer very stiff bikes for sprinting probably wouldn't like the Look as quite as well.
