Is it legal to use a camelback in a regular triathlon? If so how come nobody uses them? I have a tri tomorrow and I am thinking about using a camelback for hydration, I won't have to break my aero position to drink.

Julich used one in a Tour de France time trial.physasst said:assuming it is a USAT sanctioned race, I am not aware of any rule within the USAT rulebook which prohibits them. Nobody uses them because:
1. They're heavy and awkward
2. They are NOT aero
Getting the thing on has to be a pain! I have a hard time strapping on a shoe when I get out of the water- putting on a snug back pack is asking for problems.
