Does anyone have a good non destructive way to remove Dura ace external bearings without buying the Phil wood tool? Im looking to maybe swap them out for some ceramic bearings from boca.

The bearings inside, not the BB

Let me elaborate. The bearings INSIDE the BB cups of dura ace 7800. Phil Wood makes a 130 dollard tool set that can remove them so you dont have to keep buying a whole new BB set, only the bearings. IM wondering if there is a way without that tool to remove them.

So its like a press tool?

I would press them out with a socket.
Press them out with anything you can.
Press in new bearings on the outer race only.
Usually the old bearing you take out makes the perfect tool to press the new one in.
No need for a special tool unless you do it all the time.
Just make sure the bearings are not stressed during the press.
Seems like alot of trouble to me, I would not not do it unless they were
worn out and then i could not find a replacement for a decent amount of money.

Is this to save weight?
I can't imagine Shimano bearings sucking...they have always used the best best bearings in my opinion.

I would try mounting the BB cup in the frame and CAREFULLY setting the frame on it's side with the BB sticking through a hole in some wood and then trying to tap out the bearing with a screw driver or punch. (Actually I wouldn't since I don't think the ceramic bearings are worth it, but...) The new one should tap back quite easily. - TF
