Have an exposed gear cable rattle issue, in the open shell on the frame, which has a grommet/endcap one end, open on the other.
I was wondering, if from new, the bike had some anti-vibration cable set-up, or is there an after-market product for this?
I’ve looked at the tube liner, normally used on a frame sealed by a grommet/cable both ends, and the anti-vibration foam for cable sleeves. The liner will be susceptible to water/dirt getting in from the open ended shell, and the foam sheathing is meant for a cable sleeve and wears through in time if used on a bare cable.
I will probably use the foam option as it will have less cable friction issues, however, would appreciate any help you may give.
